Well, if we talk about cellphones, the Infinix GT 10 Pro, which at that time went viral because of its unreasonable specs for the price, has been with me for several months and has become my daily driver. Overall I am satisfied with its performance, and my various usage scenarios are well supported by this cellphone.
For the record, I’m not a gamer, so don’t imagine this review is from the perspective of someone who plays games all day long. My activities are mostly taking videos, editing, posting….somtimes gaming.
So when I took this cellphone, my expectations were simple, how all my work could be done on one device, and I didn’t have to dig too deep into my pockets. So, in this case, the Infinix GT 10 pro really meets my expectations. Where I can take videos, edit, and post directly from the same device. Which means reducing my working time and the need to transfer data to several different devices.
I can also watch, edit documents, and do lots of other work on this small device. Which is certainly very helpful for me. The last time I did this with a small device without having to move it around was a few years ago when I was still using an Oppo Find 7. At least before the Fire Nation attacked and made me lazy about buying a flagship cellphone.
But, there is no ivory that is not cracked. Including this Infinix GT 10 pro. Never mind the cracks, there are lots of lines on the back….just kidding.
And in this article, I will discuss the fatal flaws in the Infinix GT 10 pro, my version of course.
AI Gallery
Well, AI Gallery is actually a good idea in my opinion, where there is a gallery that will automatically classify all the images on our device, and divide them based on certain criteria. Like face recognition, where it filters images based on the faces in the photo. I think this is ok.
But, for some reason, AI Gallery actually puts all the images on our device into the main showcase, without filters. So when we open AI Gallery, we will see all the photos we took side by side with unclear images from which WhatsApp group. Not to mention all the screenshots, downloads and all kinds of images that we didn’t even know about before suddenly appear there.
This makes AI Gallery not like a gallery, but more like a landfill where all the images from every corner of our device are dumped and mixed together there. And this was really successful in making me use Google Photos again after a long time
AOD
If I could add to the list of urban legends or unsolved mysteries, maybe I would add AOD on the Infinix GT 10 Pro to the list. Because to be honest, after several months of use, I still haven’t managed to find where the AOD is on the Infinix GT 10 Pro. Whatever AOD design I choose, whatever settings I combine, the AOD still never appears. So every time I lock the screen, all that appears is a clock display or AOD-like graphics, and they disappear within a few seconds.
Phone Cloner, power boost, and some other small features
I know that Infinix is trying to make the GT 10 pro as clean as possible, to the point that Infinix is developing a new OS called XOS for GT. But to be honest, in my opinion this is too clean, any more clean this cellphone could be a generic Android cellphone that only has the stock ROM installed. There are several standard Infinix features that are actually useful but have been cut on this cellphone, and make the experience of using this cellphone not fun.
Although yes, the additional features for gaming are quite ok. It’s as if Infinix wants to say that this cellphone is only for gaming, yoo. Cmon Infinix, it’s impossible for a user to use a cellphone 24 hours just playing games, so he can have frequent dates with the doctor later.
For example, one thing that succeeded in making me wonder was the power booster feature which for some reason resembles the Indonesian bureaucracy which likes to be confused and long-winded. Even though this is an old feature on the Infinix series, where we can set the power saving mode to turn on automatically when the battery is at a few percent. Or we can turn on this mode directly via the button on the control panel.
But on the Infinix GT 10 pro, to turn on this mode, we have to open the control panel, click the power booster button which will take us to the settings page, then there we can turn on this mode by pressing the “enable power booster” button. Amazing
Pocket mode
I don’t know why, even though this pocket mode setting is on the Infinix GT 10 Pro, this cellphone often makes emergency calls, turns on the flash, and makes a lot of noise when it’s in my trouser pocket. I don’t know whether the pocket mode is not effective or the cellphone is just too small.
Advertisement
The last one, for now. Advertisement. For some reason, after several OTAs, the cellphone which when it first appeared promised to be ad-free suddenly started inserting adverts in the search feature, and couldn’t be turned off either, the adverts also directed us to install pirated film applications. This… violates campaign promises.
Well, that was my version of the shortcomings of the Infinix GT 10 Pro. Even though it came back, overall it is still ok and I make it my daily driver. But the shortcomings I mentioned earlier, to be honest, make the user experience not that fun.
